Follow Conway Scenic as they haul the first revenue freight over the former Maine Central Mountain Division since 1983. PSNH's new Saco Valley substation in East Conway required a large transformer on 20 axle Schnabel Car BBXC 1000 and an exciter on an 8 axle depressed center flat car that required a historic trip through Crawford Notch.

Once a high speed double track line the former B&M line between Rigby Yard in South Portland, Me and Boston, MA hosts several trains by Pan Am's "aging" fleet of EMD locomotives, to high speed passenger service on Amtrak's Downeaster. Filmed along several scenic locations in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, the action in New England scenery is a vivid reminder that this line is still important to railroading on the East Coast.

New Hampshire Northcoast was created for the purpose of hauling aggregate to customers in Boston. Using the former B&M Conway Branch, they do that to this day, but the railroad has also expanded into general freight for several customers along the line.
